New Students for Spring 2025: Please contact the Office of Residence Life for more information about moving onto campus for the remainder of the spring semester.

Summer 2025: The summer housing application opens Tuesday, March 18 at 9 a.m. To gain access to the summer application, please email reslife@cmich.edu.

New Undergraduate Students for 2025-2026: The housing application process for the 2025-2026 academic year is currently open. Students who have paid their $200 Enrollment Reservation Deposit will receive the Residential Community Living Guide via email. The guide contains residential housing information and instructions for beginning the online housing application.

You will receive an email to your CMICH account by July 1 with your specific timeslot to select your housing assignment. A timeslot is assigned to you based on your randomly selected lottery number. Housing selection will take place in mid-July.

Undergraduate Returners for 2025-2026: Housing sign-up for residence halls and Graduate Housing for the 2025-2026 academic year for current residents is currently open. Priority placement for current students over incoming first-year and transfer students ends at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, March 31.

Apply online according to this schedule:

Residence Halls

  • Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 9 a.m. through Friday, Jan. 24 at 11:59 p.m.: Returning to the same room.
  • Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 9 a.m. through Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 11:59 p.m.: Priority selection for students who are outside of the CMU Residency Requirement.
  • Thursday, Jan. 30 at 9 a.m. through Friday, Jan. 31 at 11:59 p.m.: Returning to the same residence hall, different room.
  • Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 9 a.m. through 11:59 p.m.: Open selection for space in Campbell, Fabiano or Kesseler. - ALL SPACES RESERVED
  • Thursday, Feb. 6 at 9 a.m. through 11:59 p.m.: Open selection for space in Carey Hall (the seventh and eighth floors are for incoming first-year students). - ALL SPACES RESERVED
  • Friday, Feb. 7 at 9 a.m. through 11:59 p.m.: Open selection for two-person suites in Cobb, Troutman and Wheeler. - ALL SPACES RESERVED
  • Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 9 a.m. through Monday, March 31 at 11:59 p.m.: Open selection for all remaining spaces.
  • Tuesday, March 18 at 9 a.m.: Wishlist opens. Students may sign up for the Wishlist if they want to request a housing option other than their selected choice. Students must have a housing assignment to sign up on the Wishlist and will be contacted by phone if we are able to accommodate their request.

All bed spaces in the following areas are reserved:

  • Campbell Hall
  • Carey Hall
  • Cobb Hall (Singles and two-person suites)
  • Fabiano Hall
  • Kesseler Hall
  • Wheeler Hall
  • Troutman Hall

If you would like to be considered for one of the spaces above, you must select another housing assignment and then submit a Wishlist request beginning at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18.

Graduate housing

  • Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 9 a.m. through Friday, Jan. 24 at 11:59 p.m.: Returning to the same unit.
  • Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 9 a.m. through Monday, March 31 at 11:59 p.m.: Returning to the same community, different unit.
  • Tuesday, March 18 at 9 a.m.: Wishlist opens. Students may sign up for the Wishlist if they want to request a housing option other than their selected choice. Students must have a housing assignment to sign up on the Wishlist and will be contacted by phone if we are able to accommodate their request.

First Housing Payment: The $350 first housing payment is due May 1, or with application if applying after May 1. * To defer/postpone, please email reslife@cmich.edu with your name and student ID number. * To pay by electronic check or credit card, log into centrallink.cmich.edu using your global ID and password and select View/Pay my Bill.
